Blue air faded to darkness
As the sun hid behind the mountains.
But I could still see your face
Because there were fireflies.
I looked into your eyes and saw
A perfect world with you and me.
The river rocked our boat
To the frogs’ simple melody.
The warm breeze wafted over
And carried the smell of leaves.
The stars twinkled, quietly
Whispering of our world out of reach.
The trees were silhouetted solemnly
Across the deep azure plains.
And I could hear your breath
And my name clung to your lips.
I held you in my arms, and we kissed.
Your eyes closed in rest, but I still see our world.
We could drift forever, forever in this moment.
We would never stop, and I don’t care
Because there were fireflies.
